Romance at a Glance Reviews When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare
We had the lovely hosts of Plot Trysts Meg and Laine on our podcast to talk Tessa Dare's book When a Scot Ties a Knot! We were so excited to chat with our new friends about this imaginative and fun story.
Some of our favorite parts we broke down:
how hilarious all the letters Maddie wrote were!
Captain Logan showing up at the manor
Logan supporting her dreams
The group of soldiers Logan brings with them and how they fit in with Maddie and the neighborhood
Maddie's obsession with the lobsters mating
And our feelings about the bit of rushed ending with Maddie and Logan

Quick Guide Review of the Book and Notes
Book Title: When a Scot Ties the Knot
Author: Tessa Dare
Narrator/ Available in audio: Carmen Rose
Part of a Series: Castles Ever After #3
Genre: Historical Romance
Cover Art: Big fans of the castle in the back and the kilt and bare chest in the front.
Synopsis: On the cusp of her first London season, Miss Madeline Gracechurch was shy, pretty, and talented with a drawing pencil, but hopelessly awkward with gentlemen. She was certain to be a dismal failure on the London marriage mart. So Maddie did what generations of shy, awkward young ladies have done: she invented a sweetheart.
A Scottish sweetheart. One who was handsome and honorable and devoted to her, but conveniently never around. Maddie poured her heart into writing the imaginary Captain MacKenzie letter after letter . . . and by pretending to be devastated when he was (not really) killed in battle, she managed to avoid the pressures of London society entirely.
Until years later, when this kilted Highland lover of her imaginings shows up in the flesh. The real Captain Logan MacKenzie arrives on her doorstep—handsome as anything, but not entirely honorable. He's wounded, jaded, in possession of her letters . . . and ready to make good on every promise Maddie never expected to keep.
Favorite Line in the Book:
Shani:
I love you to the point of madness. I’m just rasional enough to know that i want those things because I have difficulties with trust …. It’s my problem to over come.
Favorite Review:
Shani:
Sometimes a story will just 'tickle' me from start to finish, and this was one of those stories. It's a unique, fun, easy but not brainless tale that had me smiling, start to finish. Of course, this is Tessa Dare and that means it's also captivating and passionate and truly heartfelt, and to sum it up in a word; amazing
