Nalini Singh Podcast Interview
Slave to Sensation - Nalini’s first book
So I just wrote the first book and it was all in my head. And then I got to book two and I was like, wow, I need to keep referring back to book one, to check stuff because I am, I grew up on science fiction and fantasy alongside romance. So I am a big believer in world-building and really cohesive worlds and maintaining continuity. So because of that, I was referring back constantly to Slave to Sensation while I was writing Visions of Heat.

And just when I'm on my computer file writing, I still work on Word. So I still have this single computer file where I'm working on and that's it. That's what I have open on my screen and then my folders.

Angel's Blood - Guild Hunter Book 1
You know, I would love to fly, so I totally freely admit this. So it would have to be like angel wings or a shapeshifter that can fly. And given that the angelic, the Guild Hunter world is actually quite brutal, much higher chance of a horrible death. I think probably I would go for the psy changeling world it's, you know, with the, with the pack, you know, the changeling packs a bit warmer and more likely more likely to survive. So yeah, I would be like a winged changeling think.

I loved writing because the hummingbird and Titus both were interesting character right. To, because they are so old in their emotional world. And so they're interacting, especially the hummingbird she's interacting with even Rapheal in a way that's quite maternal, like to, to her, their kids, even though he's an Archangel, Raphael was still a kid and of course Illium's her baby, her baby boy. So she's never going to be like, she's always going to see him as his son. And so, yeah. And also add on, you know, she thinks of him, you know, in that same sort of way. So yeah, it was actually really fun writing those scenes and seeing how they treat her.

Quiet in Her Bones - Thriller set in NZ
Alpha Night - Book 5 Psy Changelings
And so there's never one person who has to be like, okay, I am the sole representative of all the people of color in this entire series. So yeah. They all have to be unique. There are people. And I think that's the most critical thing I begin.
