Our recollections of reading this book the first time, and our experience reading it this time, were so completely different. First of all, we remembered this book being WAY WAY kinkier than it actually is. Secondly, we remember just liking V so much more.
This book starts off with V still being obsessed and in lust with Butch, despite him having mated and bonded with Marissa and he is stressing because all of his visions have dried up. Then he gets shot in the chest and meets surgeon Jane who saves his life and comes to by bonding with her even though she’s human.
So many moments in this book sparked our passionate discussions:
Vishous is a Dom at the beginning of the book (and in previous books), but then that potential and nature are never realized again. WTF?
Our dreams of a thruple when Marissa is feeding V.
Jane and V’s sexual encounters, including when she acts as his Dom. HOT.
And of course, the big one, Jane becoming ghost Jane. Does this bend the laws of the universe?

Bridget: 🍆🍆🍆 I actually liked him less than I remember liking him. I remember this book being WAYY more filled with sex. And I feel like she “fixes” him to quickly over all his shit with his past and his Dom self. Like the book keeps talking about him “pulsing at her disobedience” but then wants her to work him out… why isn’t he tying her up?

"She. Comes. With. Me."-V
Lover Unbound, the 5th book in the BDB series was great. I would have gave it 5 stars if not for Phury. Truly that Brother rubs me the wrong way every time he is on the page. And he had too many pages in this book. I know his book is next, but man I could've done with a lot less Phury. Anyways V and Jane's story was sweet, kinky, and very angsty.

Bridget: Same as the rest of the series. Hot man about to kiss or maybe bite a neck. It looks appealing. Different color wash for each character. Doesn’t really tell me anything about Jane or Vishous as characters of that there will be BDSM in this book.
Worth the Read?
Shani: YES
Bridget: Yes, you have to read this because sooooo much happens in this book aside from the main relationship between V and Jane. I didn’t like this book as much as I remembered liking reading it on my first time through. That said, I’d probably give their relationship a 3 star, but 4 star overall for the book because so much happens to all the other characters as well that I really enjoyed. Especially my boys (Quinn, Blaylock and John Matthew) who have a special place in my heart.
